Together For Early Years
February 2, 2021
Dear Members,
Friday February 5ᵗʰ marks the one year anniversary of the Together For Early Years march in Dublin in 2020. To mark the anniversary, and to remind Government that much work remains to ensure quality early childhood experiences for children, value our early years educators, ensure affordability for parents and sustainability for service providers, Together For Early Years is calling for your support again. All those who support improvements to the Early Years system in Ireland are asked to show your solidarity virtually on Friday 5th February 2021.
OMEP Ireland supports Together for Early Years. We are therefore circulating the attached poster, which you can circulate in any way you wish. Together For Early Years have created an information site, outlining the key ‘asks’ of our government, which is available at https://bigstartireland.medium.com/together-for-early-years-campaign-platform-2021-61bb6f0f334a
The simplest way to show support is to begin posting socially-distanced images,
wearing red, holding handmade posters, on social media, using the hashtags,
#ValueEarlyYears #oneunitedvoice #staysafe
Together for Early Years ask that these images begin circulating from Friday February 5ᵗʰ at 1pm in the afternoon, and continue as long as the momentum holds.
OMEP Ireland respects you right to choose whether to participate in the virtual online action. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please get in touch at mary.moloney@mic.ul.ie
Thank you for your support,
Mary Moloney,
President OMEP Ireland
